What is Liquid Light? Liquid Light is a photographic emulsion - silver gelatin - coated onto a variety of surfaces and materials including stone, silk, canvas, and almost any type of paper. It allows black & white negatives to be printed on those surfaces.
This is a highly creative and enjoyable printing process that encourages participants to explore new ways of giving expression to creative ideas. This versatile process offers almost endless ways of combining images and materials and is an extension to visual expression using other than the familiar photographic papers.
The tutor gives a step-by-step demonstration and you will practise coating the emulsion onto the various surfaces including fabric, wood, and different paper surfaces. You can print from your own negatives or the tutor can supply negatives.
The finished prints are toned and retouched. At the end of the course, all prints made will be evaluated through positive and constructive appraisal.
