Marisa Rueda
Marisa Rueda was born in Buenos Aires and lives and works in London. She has an active professional life as a mixed media and installation artist and, for many years, has spoken through her work about the political situation in Argentina, especially during the time of the dictatorship.
She was part of the successful exhibition "Women's Images of Men" in 1980 and has exhibited alongside women artists for many years. She was for two years artist in residence for the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, where she developed community projects. She finished this residency with the creation of a sculpture for Shepherds Bush Green.
Rueda’s work has been widely exhibited in the UK and abroad (including, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Buenos Aires and India) in the form of installations, performances, group and one-person exhibitions.
The photography was commissioned by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
All the black & white original images are printed on fibre based photographic papers and selenium toned by Yoke Matze. The photography is also by Yoke Matze.
